CHARLESTON, S.C. - Ben Reed scored 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds as Western Michigan beat the College of Charleston 69-56 on Sunday.
The Broncos (5-2) went on an 11-0 run to take a 13-2 lead just 5:03 into the game. At halftime, Western Carolina led 32-23.
Charleston (3-3) opened the second half with a 17-10 run capped by a Robert Swain's jumper that cut the margin to 42-40 with 10:26 left in the game.
Reed, who made 6-of-13 from the field, capped a 16-4 run with a pair of free throws to give Western Michigan a 58-44 lead with 4:38 remaining.
Levi Rost and Joe Reitz added 10 points each for the Broncos. Dontaye Draper scored 15 points for Charleston.
