NEW YORK - CNN has a new boss for the second time in 14 months: former CBS News executive Jonathan Klein, who will oversee programming and editorial direction at the second-ranked cable news network.
Klein replaces Princell Hair, who will stay with CNN as a program and talent development executive, the network announced Monday.
He was executive vice president of CBS News from 1996 to 1998, then left CBS to found The FeedRoom Inc., the world's largest broadband news network and one of the Web's top video streamers.
"Jon is among the next generation of news industry leaders who are focused on the future of our business and getting there first," CNN News Group executive Jim Walton said Monday.
Hair had been CNN's general manager since September 2003.
