LAST WEEK: The speedy sophomore found the end zone twice on returns to power a 30-12 victory against Westside. Daggett reversed a 6-0 deficit with his 75-yard fumble return in the second quarter. He then halted a Patriots march to tie the game late in the first half when he picked off a pass in the end zone. He put a 12-6 game out of reach when he returned the second-half kickoff 94 yards along a sideline-to-sideline jaunt for his second touchdown. Daggett has been a part of 10 touchdowns for the Eagles over the past three weeks.
WHAT THEY'RE SAYING: "I went over to the county middle school championship game when Danny was at Murphey. It went down to the wire and I saw Danny playing. Man, he was a player. I was licking my chops about getting a chance to have him at Josey. He just has a knack for coming up with big plays. I knew the kid had talent. But it has been surprising to see he could just dominate games all by himself as a sophomore." - Josey coach Barney Chavous
DAGGETT ON HIS 94-YARD TOUCHDOWN: "It is really hard to score on a kickoff return. It's even harder when you drop the ball on the kickoff. I was thinking that Coach Chavous was going to roast me when I got to the sideline after the play. But as I was picking it up I heard my teammates on the field screaming 'Better make it up.' So I picked it back up, made a bunch of people miss going to one side of the field, then cut back and I was gone down the other sideline. I guess Coach didn't have to roast me when I got to the sideline since I took it back all the way."
