Fourteen fishermen caught 48 bass weighing 78 pounds, 10 ounces and all were released alive. Average weight was 1.10. Thirty-eight percent of the club caught limits of fish. Top 6: Mike Guilbeau, Tim Rupert, Ron Weber, Larry Hubbard, Glenn Hubbard, Joe Tovalis. Alternate: Craig Sowinski.

The tournament, formerly conducted for the March of Dimes, will benefit the Boy Scouts of America. Entry fee is $60 per team with an 80 percent payback. $10 optional big fish pot fee. Tournament hours are safe light until 3 p.m. Launch site is Buster Boyd Landing. Entry fee is $160 per boat ($170 at the ramp) and all contestants must be AnglersChannel members by Nov. 10 to compete. Prize money is guaranteed $10,000, to be divided among the top five places: $5,000 for first, $2,000 to second, $1,500 to third, $1,000 to fourth and $500 to fifth. Ranger Cup event: $1,000 bonus paid if winning boat owner owns a Ranger; otherwise, $500 to the highest finishing Ranger owner. Billed as the largest tournament trail for weekend anglers, it's open to men, women and youths (with parental consent) 16 years of age and older. No boat is required, but if you enter as a boater, you will be guaranteed its use even if there are no non-boaters in the field. Entry fee is $55 for one-day tournaments. Payment at the ramp will result in a $5 penalty unless you are signing up as a new member, renewing membership or are a life member. No guides or professional bass anglers are allowed. Please note: The Sept. 18 event is the first tournament of the 2005 season and is an open tournament. You don't have to be a member, but if you want your points to count, you must join before weighing in your fish. More information from ABA District 26 Director Milton C.
