Mr. James F. Maddox (LINCOLNTON, Ga.)



LINCOLNTON, Ga. - James F. Maddox, age 86, of Lincolnton, husband of the late Ella Mae Anthony Maddox, entered into rest Thursday, October 28, 2004. Mr. Maddox was the son of the late Robert and Katie Ford Maddox. Mr. Maddox was a native of Augusta, Ga. and had worked for the Veterans Administration Hospital before retiring. He was a member of the American Legion Post #194 and also a member of Briarcreek Sportsman Club. Mr. Maddox served in the U.S. Army during WW II where he earned a Purple Heart for his courageous service to our country. He was loving father and grandfather that will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 2, 2004 at Pierce Memorial United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. Tom Compton officiating. Interment services will follow immediately afterwards at Pierce Memorial United Methodist Cemetery. Survivors are a son, David Maddox and his wife, Donna of Margate, Fla. and a daughter, Kathy Netzer and her husband, R on of Martinez and eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and also a son-in-law, Wyman Fox and preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Fox.
