Smoke bomb set off during bank robbery



Above, officers from the Aiken County bloodhound team and the Richmond County Sheriff's Office search the woods behind the Bank of America on Center West Parkway after it was robbed at about 9 a.m. Friday.

Officers said the suspect fled into the woods after setting off a smoke bomb in the west Augusta building. The suspect was described as a 6-foot-tall man wearing a dark-blue jump suit and armed with a black semiautomatic gun. At left, Richmond County sheriff's officers search for clues outside of the bank.
