HAMPTON, S.C. - DESMOND PERRY SCORED ON A 1-YARD TOUCHDOWN RUN, AND SEPH JARRELL KICKED THE PAT, TO GIVE WADE HAMPTON AN OVERTIME VICTORY, AND THE REGION 5-AA TITLE.

THE TEAMS ENTERED THE GAME AS THE ONLY UNBEATENS IN THE REGION.

NOT ONLY DID THE VICTORY KEEP WADE HAMPTON UNBEATEN AT 10-0, BUT IT WAS THE FIRST TIME HAMPTON HAS BEATEN SILVER BLUFF SINCE THE SERIES STARTED IN 1988. SILVER BLUFF IS NOW 6-4 OVERALL.

SILVER BLUFF LED 7-6 ENTERING THE FOURTH QUARTER, WHEN THE OFFENSIVE FIREWORKS STARTED.

IT WAS TIED A 21-21 AFTER REGULATION. IN OVERTIME, SILVER BLUFF SCORED ON LAWRENCE BOYD'S 1-YARD RUN, BUT THE PAT FAILED.

THE RED DEVILS (9-1, 5-0) play Our Lady of Mercy in the opening round of the playoffs next week.

Coppin's touchdown passes went to Jatheus Jones (41 yards) and Steven Brown (31 yards). Norman scored on a 30-yard fumble return and a 4-yard run.

WAYNESBORO, Ga. - After two Marcus Washington touchdowns in the first half, Julius Peterson scored from the 1-yard line for what proved to be the deciding score in Burke County's win over Liberty County.

Washington had 180 yards rushing on the night.

WILLISTON, S.C. - Blackville-Hilda exploded for 21 fourth-quarter points to ease past Williston-Elko and complete a perfect regular season.

The 10-0 Fighting Hawks led the Blue Devils 14-12 after three quarters before pulling away.

Marcus Allen rushed for 73 yards and scored touchdowns on runs of 19, 4 and 5 yards for Blackville, which finished 4-0 in Region 5-A.

CAIL, WHO SCORED ON RUNS OF 30, 4 AND 49 YARDS, FINISHED THE SEASON WITH 892 YARDS RUSHING.

SOPHOMORE QUARTERBACK CHRIS PYE RUSHED FOR A TOUCHDOWN AND PASSED FOR ANOTHER FOR SCREVEN, WHICH FINISHES THE SEASON 3-7.

WARRENTON, Ga.- Jared Jackson had a pair of touchdown runs as the War Eagles won the Region 1-AA title.

Daniel Harris and Jake Rachels both went over 100 yards rushing for Brentwood (8-2, 4-0) which plays Windsor Academy at home next week in the first round of the playoffs. Tyler Westerhad a pair of touchdowns for Briarwood (4-6, 2-2).
