Mr. Charles A. Brinson (MILLEN, Ga.)



MILLEN, Ga.-Lt. (Ret.) Charles (Punchy) Brinson, 61, died Monday, October 5, 2004. Mr. Brinson was a native of Jenkins County and had lived there most of his life. He retired from the U. S. Coast Guard as a Lieutenant and was also a former merchant marine. He is preceded in death by his father, Pete Brinson. Survivors include his wife, Martha S. Brinson; his mother, Venita Towers of Jacksonville, Fla.; a son, Charles A. (Chuck) Brinson, Jr. of Woodbridge, VA.; a daughter, Leigh Anne Yeary of San Antonio, Texas; three sisters, Ann Tucker of Jacksonville, Fla., Gail Kirby, Auburndale, Fla., Cheryl Parks, Jacksonville, Fla., three brothers, Sam Brinson of Inverness, Fla., Don Brinson of Moultrie, and Ray Parks of Starke, Fla. and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 7, 2004 at the Oak Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be at the Millen Cemetery with full military honors. Pallbearers will be F. A. Black, Ronald Jenkins, Edwar d Thompson, Britt Marchman, Brandon Mobley and Ben Knight. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home.
