If only we had more Zell Millers - someone in Washington to stand up for what is good for the country, not their party or their pocketbooks.
Congress votes to raise its pay time and time again, while cutting the benefits of our seniors, veterans and the disabled. Oh, by the way, senators can be in office for only a few years and draw a hefty retirement. How many in the private sector can do that?
I think we should cut lawmakers' pay in half, and a few of their benefits, and let them know what it's like. Half of their pay probably would be 10 times or more than I have to live on.
When are "we the people" going to unite and speak out?
