THIS IS A RAVE for your Rants and Raves section. I get a good chuckle reading the comments that are published. Though they have no intellectual merit, they're still enlightening and humorous. Keep up the good work, Chronicle editors and misguided writers.
In Wednesday's edition, a Republican criticized a Democrat for not accepting criticism for wearing pins supporting the party. He cited Harry Truman: "If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen." Let's see, Truman was a Democrat and Republicans tend to overheat whenever they're confronted by critical attacks. That's why slovenly, insipid demagogues such as Rush Limbaugh hide their faces from the camera as radio personalities.
HURRAY FOR GORE, McCain and George W. Bush. Unlike John F. Kerry, they signed Pentagon form No. 180 authorizing full release of their military records. Instead of letting his complete records speak for themselves, Kerry throws childish tantrums and accuses 250-plus honorable veterans of a "pack of lies." Kerry, the great deceiver, is the first self-confessed war criminal to run for commander in chief. Like Clinton, he loathes the military. He is totally unfit for command.
ARE YOU BETTER OFF than you were four years ago? Consider this: The average workers' health insurance premium has increased 36 percent over the last four years, while the average workers' earnings increased only 12.4 percent over the same four years. President Bush promised to help, but the truth is in the numbers.
THIS IS A RANT about "Smoking suspension angers teen's father." This is happening in Columbia County schools as well. It's a shame that you don't have anything else to worry about in Columbia County other than kids smoking. What about drugs in the school and the threats kids make against each other? My child was also suspended for smelling like smoke, and he was not smoking.
GOD BLESS America! God must step in and fix America and Augusta.
