Mr. Joseph Wesley Harrell (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Joseph Wesley Harrell, age 84, was called home by his Lord and Savior on Monday, September 20, 2004. He was the son of the late Rev. John Wesley Harrell and Maude Ethel Faulkner Harrell. He is remembered as a devout Christian who served as Deacon, Elder, Elder Emeritus, former Sunday School Superintendent, Chairman of the Congregation and Sunday School Teacher at the First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church of Augusta. He also attended South Augusta Pentecostal Holiness Church. He witnessed to those about him and reminded them to keep the faith and take the Lord with them. He was a blessing to his family. He served as a military policeman in the U. S. Army's Office of Security and Intelligence during World War II. For 35 years, Mr. Harrell worked as a machinist for the Georgia and Seaboard Coastline Railroads. He also owned Art Craft Printers and was a former member of BPOE Elk Lodge 205. He is surviv ed by his wife of 64 years, Louise Ansley Harrell; daughter, Claudia White of Hartsdale, N.Y.; daughter, Joan Moore and her husband, Gene Moore, of Evans, Ga.; brother, Ronald Harrell and his wife, Frances Harrell; brother, Donald Harrell and his wife, Elistine Harrell of Augusta, Ga.; sister-in-law, Minnie A. Cason of Martinez, Ga.; sister-in-law, Dora Harrell of Spartanburg, S.C.; grandchildren, Cherie White and John Robert White II of Hartsdale, N.Y., Georgia Ann Moore of Clarkston, Ga., Andrea Moore of Evans, Ga.; great-grandchild, Amanda P. Moore of Evans, Ga. and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, September 23, 2004, at Poteet & Son Funeral Home, 214 Davis Road, Augusta, Georgia. Funeral services will be held in the Poteet Chapel Friday, September 24, 2004, at 4 p.m. with Rev. Guy Campbell, Jr. and Rev. Dr. Don Yancey officiating. Internment will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2700 Deans Bridge Rd., Augusta, Ga. Pallbear ers will be Dean Harrell, Wade Harrell, Perley Wheeler, Bob Gibson, John R.
