Mrs. Wilma Jean "Toodie" Nine (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Wilma Jean "Toodie" Nine, 50, beloved wife of Mark Nine, entered into rest on Monday, September 20, 2004, at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Platt's Crawford Avenue Chapel, with the Rev. Gene Jennings officiating. Mrs. Nine was born in Augusta on May 8, 1954 and later moved to Charlotte, N.C. to support her husband in his new career after college. She had recently returned to Augusta to assist her husband in managing their family owned business here. She was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church. Mrs. Nine was an avid bowler and a member of the Charlotte Women's Bowling League, where she had bowled three perfect 300 games. She was also selected to the Georgia Women's All State basketball team twice while playing for Butler High School from 1970 through 1972. She also enjoyed tending to her beautiful plants and gardens as well as creating handmade arts and crafts. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Nine is survived by her two daughters, and son-in-law, Cristy Lynn Nine of Charlotte and Jennifer Shelly Jenkins and her husband, Jason, of Martinez; two granddaughters, Bailey and Riley and sister Mary Helen Jackson of Hilton Head, S.C. Toodie was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Wilma and grandmother Helen Crocker. Pallbearers include Jason Jenkins, Howard Dye, Rick Poling, Sid Milsaps, Paul Nine and Bob Kaylor. The family will be receiving friends at Platt's Crawford Ave. from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2004.
