MSGT Frederick Steinmitz, Jr. (AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Retired Master Sergeant Frederick Steinmitz, Jr. entered into rest Wednesday September 1, 2004 at University Hospital. Mr. Steinmitz a native of Cleveland, Ohio served his country in the U.S. Army for 29 years with 2 tours in Vietnam and 1 tour in Korea. After retiring from the Army Mr. Steinmitz worked as a realtor a few years for Century 21 Georgia Sun. Mr. Steinmitz was a member of VFW Post 649, American Legion Post 205, Voiture 719 40/8 and also a member of New Hope Church of God. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. at Elliott Sons Funeral Home Lumpkin Road Chapel with Rev. Rich Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park with Full Military honors accorded by the ceremonial detachment of Fort Gordon. Survivors include his loving wife Rozielee Bevill Hobbs Steinmitz of Augusta; daughter. Christine S. Babb of New Jersey; step-son, Ronald E. Hobbs of Augusta; two Grandsons, Derick and T yler Brin; two granddaughters, Tammy D. Shafer and Gina M. Hall; one great grandson, Randall Tyler Hall; two brothers, Donald Steinmitz of Panama City, Fla. and Henry Steinmitz of Daytona Beach, Fla.; one sister, Rose Ringer of Cleveland, Ohio.
