CLARKS HILL, S.C.- Mr. Johnny Houston entered into rest Sunday, August 29, 2004 at the Medical College of Georgia. Funeral service will be held Thursday, September 2, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Bethany Baptist Church, Clarks Hill, S.C., with Rev. Winston Oliver officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Houston was a native of McCormick Co., S.C., he was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church, Clarks Hill. Mr. Houston was employed at Joe L. Houston Hauling. Survivors include his wife, Derrianne Houston, Clarks Hill, three daughters, Falon Houston, Courtney Houston, Clarks Hill, Nakia H. Tompkins, Appling, father, Joe Houston, mother, Mary Louise Houston, Clarks Hill, four sisters, Sylvia Hill, Grovetown, Teresa Griffin, Caroline Houston, Clarks Hill, Sarah Wright, Augusta, two brothers, Lewis Gilyard, Augusta, Robert Garrett, Clarks Hill, tow grandsons, Zalon Hawes, Ashton Thompkins; mother-in-law, Mary Freeman, Clarks Hill, father-in-law, Willie Walton, Augusta, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. The remains will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
