Mrs. Beth Bryan (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest on Monday, August 23, 2004, at University Hospital, Mrs. Elizabeth H. "Beth" Bryan, wife of Arthur B. Bryan of Augusta. Mrs. Bryan was a native of Gallopolis, Ohio but lived in Augusta for over fifty years. She was a college professor and a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Masters degree in Statistics. She taught at the University of Georgia from 1964-1966 and at Augusta College from 1966-1996. She also taught computer classes in continuing education at Augusta College from 1985-2002. She was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa, Pi Mu Epsilon, Sigma Xi, National Science Foundation Chautauqua Program, Delta Kappa Gamma, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and Who's Who in American Education. She had multiple publications in the AMATYC Review, Proceedings of ICOTS II, Statistics Teacher Network, The Mathematics Teacher, and Proceedings of the Rou nd Table Conference on Teacher Training. She was named outstanding Faculty Member of the Year at Augusta College in 1995-1996. Funeral services will be on Thursday, August 26, 2004 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Rev. Dr. Richard Sanders officiating. Pallbearers will be her nephews. Burial will be in Westover Memorial Park. Other family members include her son and daughter-in-law, C. Gregory and Barbara W. Bryan of Augusta; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Bryan and W. Roy Thompson of Evans; grandchildren, William B. Bryan, W. Bryce Thompson, Matthew G. Bryan, Mary Elizabeth Bryan; brother, Jamie Higgins and sister, Garen Livingston. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church , 605 Reynolds Street, Augusta, Ga. 30901.
