Mrs. Ellen Turner (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga.-Mrs. Lucy Ellen Stelling Turner entered into rest at her residence on Saturday, August 21, 2004 after several weeks of illness. Interment will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 2004 at Westover Memorial Park followed by a memorial service noon at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 825 Greene Street, Augusta with Pastor David Hunter officiating both services. Survivors include her brother and his wife, Carl and Mary Katherine Stelling of White Rock, S.C.; three nieces, Mary Hunter, Aiken, S.C., Vivienne Stopper, Augusta and Ellen R. Ohlsen, Santa Fe, N.M. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry Turner, by her parents, Carl H. and Lucy Ellen Osborne Stelling and by a brother, the Rev. Thomas Osborne Stelling. Mrs. Turner was a retired librarian of Monte Sano Elementary School. She was a member of the D.A.R., the U.D.C., Delta Kappa Gamma and numerous other community groups. She was a dedicated volunteer at her church and at the Veterans Hospital. Immediately following the memorial service the family will receive friends in the church's Reiser Hall.
