Mr. Luther C. Snellgrove (NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C.)



NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C.- Graveside Services for Mr. Luther C. Snellgrove, 76, of Georgia Avenue, North Augusta, who died August 16, 2004, will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Westover Memorial Park with Military Honors. Father David F. O. Thompson officiating. Mr. Snellgrove was a native of Jacksonville, Fla., having made North Augusta his home for the past 64 years. He was a member of the St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, a U.S. Veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Merchant Marine and the U.S. Army in Japan. Mr. Snellgrove was a retired Supply Technician for Southern Bell with 32 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Wilma McGahee Snellgrove; a son and daughter-in-law, John Luther and Shannon Turner Snellgrove, North Augusta; a daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Stephen L. Kendrick, Sr., North Augusta; his mother, Sara Holloman Welchel, North Augusta; two brothers, George R. Welchel and Frank E. Welchel, both of Nor th Augusta; one sister, Sara Henderson, Keystone Heights, Fla., four grandchildren, Stephen L. Kendrick, Jr., Matthew Blair Kendrick, Peggy Katherine Snellgrove, Sara Renee Snellgrove; two great grandchildren, Ansley Katherine Snellgrove and Emma Claire Snellgrove. Pallbearers will be Stephen L. Kendrick, Jr., Matthew Blair Kendrick, James A. Key, Charles E. Petty, James P. Bell and Jerry O'Hara. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Thursday evening from 6 to 8. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 1384 Greene Street, Augusta, Ga. 30901. Stephen D.
