I have been reading of the political concerns in Augusta about the plight of former state Sen. Charles Walker, and about the many charges alleged against him. I do not know if they are true or false.
My message to the African-American community in District 22: You don't know how blessed you are to have a member of the African-American community who has the influence and impact on the decisions that affect us.
I do not live in Augusta, but I do know of the help that Mr. Walker has provided in support of Paine College. I live in an area of Florida where we have been unable to elect an African-American to any political office above city government.
Black citizens of District 22, wake up, count your blessings and unite behind Charles Walker.
