Next tournament is Sept. 18 out of the Cherokee ramp. It's the first tournament of the 2004-2005 season and is an open tournament. You don't have to be an ABA member to fish, but to earn points for the year, you must join before weighing in your catch. Our national tournament will be held Oct. 3-8 on Wheeler Lake near Decatur, Ala. Billed as the largest tournament trail for weekend anglers, it's open to men, women and youths (with parental consent) 16 years of age and older. No boat is required, but if you enter as a boater, you will be guaranteed its use even if there are no non-boaters in the field. Entry fee is $55 for one-day tournaments.
