In the July 6 Augusta Chronicle, we find out that the Rev. Nathaniel Irvin thinks America should pay reparations to the great-grandchildren of slaves. He claims that not only is it not a handout but that they "deserve" the payment. What a crock.
Is this is what we are supposed to believe? Person A has a particular distant ancestor. And, more than a hundred years ago, something bad happened to him. Now, the Rev. Irvin thinks Person B should have to take money from his family and give it to Person A because Person Bs distant ancestor did the bad thing. Person A deserves this?
If America falls for this scam, when will it ever end? I think America should pay me because my great-grandfather was run over by a stagecoach in 1870. Using the logic of the Rev. Irvin, I should be getting payments soon. I deserve it.
