Mr. Billy F. Blanchard (HARLEM, Ga.)



HARLEM, Ga. - Entered into rest Sunday, July 4, 2004, at the Wills Memorial Hospital in Washington, Ga., Mr. Billy F. Blanchard, 75, beloved husband of Mrs. Rubye T. Blanchard, of Fairview Drive, Harlem. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2004, in the Harlem Memorial Cemetery with the Reverend Roger Vest officiating. Mr. Blanchard, a native of Perry, Florida, was a long-time resident of Harlem. He was a graduate of Georgia Military Academy and a U.S. Marine veteran. After 26 years of service, he retired from the Savannah River Plant and later taught at Augusta and Aiken Technical Colleges. Mr. Blanchard was a member of Harlem United Methodist Church, where he was one of the oldest members of his church. Mr. Blanchard is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mrs. Rubye T. Blanchard. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law Paula B. and Joe Green, of Harlem; two granddaughters, Alison Green and Amanda Green; two sister s, Lucy Ann Singleton, of Washington, and Dorothy Moore, of Atlanta; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence M. Blanchard and Bertha Stone Blanchard and a sister Mary Bryd. Pallbearers will be John Singleton, Glenn Phillips, Mel Phillips, Bobby Culpepper, Steve Green and Charles Gay. Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Callaway, Frank Pilleggi, Kenneth Clary, Jerry Connor, and Gene Grider.
