Odom agrees to two-year contract extension

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- South Carolina signed basketball coach Dave Odom to a two-year contract extension Friday.

Odom, the 2003-04 Southeastern Conference coach of the year, will receive a $10,000 raise, giving him a base salary of $160,000. His contract runs through the 2007-08 season.

The deal still has to be approved by university trustees.

This past year was Odom's best since arriving at South Carolina three years ago. His team went 23-11 and reached the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1998. He is 57-42 at South Carolina and 335-216 in his 18-year career, which also includes a stint at Wake Forest.
