Outdoors calendar
NOTE: All the listed events are open to the public, although membership in some organizations may be required.
THURSDAY: The Fishing with Ralph Barbee television show be aired nightly on Knology Channel 6 at 10:30 pm and Comcast will air it on Channel 66 Monday nights at 9:30 pm and again on Thursday nights at 7:30 pm. Tune in for fishing tips and locations.
Augusta-Aiken Audubon will hold its bi-monthly meeting at 7 p.m. The meeting location is the North Augusta Community Center, located at 495 Brookside Ave. in North Augusta, S.C. Program focuses on their endangered Wood Stock. The public is invited.
Saturday: The Thunder Over Thurmond Open-Team Bass Tournament will be held at the Dorn Boating and Fishing Facility at Thurmond Lake. Registration begins at 4:30 a.m. with weigh-in at 2 p.m. Entry fee is $70 per team and $10 for a big fish pot. Call (706) 359-7970 for more details.
Mon., Aug 2-Friday, Aug. 6: The popular Woodsmanship and Hunter Education Camp will be held at the Audubon Society's Silver Bluff Center near Beech Island, S.C. Programs are held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. For registration details, call Jody Childs at (803) 725-8712.
