Baseball

  • Rodney Hennon's Eagles Baseball Camp will be held at Georgia Southern. Session II will be held July 18-22 and will be an overnight camp. Session III will be held July 26-29 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. For more information, call (912) 871-1331 or go to www.georgiasouthernbaseballcamp.com.
  • USSSA 8 and under machine pitch World Series will be held July 13-18 at Sweetwater Park in Thomson. Age divisions 12 and under and 10 and under Nationals will also be held. For more information, call the Thomson McDuffie Recreation Department at 595-2152.

  • Basketball

  • The Aiken County Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department will host an Adult Men's Summer Basketball League at Harrison-Caver Park, Hwy. 421, Clearwater, beginning July 26.   • Sure-Shot Basketball Camp for elementary school students will be held July 19-23 at Lakeside Middle School from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Cost is $75. Basketball Camp for middle school students will be held June 7-11 at Lakeside Middle School and June 14-18 at Riverside Middle School from 1-4:30 p.m. Cost is $80.   • Football-R-Us will hold its 4th annual Football Conditioning Camp at Lakeside Middle School. The dates are July 20, 22, 24, 27, 29, and 31. Times will be Tuesday and Thursday 6:15-8 p.m. and Saturday 10:15 a.m. until 12 p.m. Camp is for 6-8th graders from the CSRA. Cost is $40 and includes Powerade, water and T-shirt.   • Golf

  • The Family Y and The First Tee will hold a Par Fitness Youth Golf Program July 17-21 on Saturdays. Registration deadline is June 24. Fees are $39 for Family Y members; $59 for non-members. For more information, call Kenya or Bill at 733-1030.
  • Applications are being accepted for the David Usry Junior Golf Academy summer camps at the North Augusta Country Club. The camp offers a series of three-day camps and is open to all youth ages 6-16. The dates for the camps are July 13-15, and July 27-29.   • Gymnastics

  • Gymnastics classes will be offered at the H.O. Weeks center for beginner and intermediate gymnasts on Thursdays from 6-7 p.m. The class is for boys and girls ages 4-12.   • Miscellaneous

  • MACH Academy, Inc. and First Tee of Augusta will host "Sports of a Lifetime" July 12-23 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Fleming Tennis Center. The week-long day camps are designed to introduce children ages 5-17 to tennis, golf, and soccer. Cost is $50 and includes equipment. A $10 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve space.   • Petersburg Racquet Club is offering summer tennis/swim camps each week through the end of July. Camps are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. for beginner through intermediate level players. Recreational swimming will follow tennis instruction and games. Discounts will be offered for multiple children and and campers who attend more than one session.   • Softball

  • Swimming

  • Tryouts will be held for the Aiken Augusta Swim League 2004-2005 season July 13 and Aug. 6 at USC Aiken Natatorium and July 14 and August 5 at the Augusta Aquatic Center. All tryouts will be held at 5 p.m. The Swim League is also offering a "High School Stay Fit" level for 8-12 graders. Augusta only will offer a "Guppy" level for 5-8 year olds learning how to swim.
  • Tennis

  • The H.O. Weeks Tennis Center is offering tennis lessons for children and adults of all skill levels. The Tennis Center offers group lessons, private lessons, leagues, and tournaments for various skill levels. For more information, to register for a clinic, or to reserve a court, call 642-7739.
  • The 2004 Mark Brown Memorial Junior Tennis Tournament will be held July 11-13 at the Petersburg Racquet Club. The tournament is a sanctioned Georgia Tennis Association Challenger event, with Boys and Girls 10 and under, 12 and under, 14 and under, 16 and under, and 18 and under divisions. Deadline for entries is July 5 and must be mailed or delivered to Petersburg Racquet Club. The tournament serves as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society's Richmond -Columbia Unit.
