It began as a simple business arrangement two years ago for Lori Ascani and David Van Lenten.

As a music teacher, she wanted to sing at the Augusta GreenJackets baseball game to help her pupils, and he was then the team's general manager.

"The first time I called, he didn't return my call," Mrs. Van Lenten said. "He didn't get the message."

Once the two made contact, she was booked for several games, and by the end of the season the music teacher who loved the art and the general manager who loved sports were a pair.

"How many people can say their song is the National Anthem?" Mrs. Van Lenten said.

The couple exchanged vows Saturday at St. James United Methodist Church in Augusta.
