Mr. Ray "Footsie" Padgett Jr. (NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C.)



NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Entered into rest on Tuesday, June 29, 2004, Mr. Ray "Footsie" Padgett Jr., husband of Mrs. Paulette Story Padgett, of 2215 Rush Street, North Augusta, S.C. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons and their wives, Steve and Jennifer Padgett and Kevin and Sarah Padgett, all of North Augusta, S.C.; one daughter and her husband, Cheryl and Mike Morris, of North Augusta, S.C.; one brother and his wife, James and Jewel Padgett of Aiken, S.C.; three sisters and their husbands, Helen and Charles Adams of Bath, S.C., Doris and Ed Black and Annie Laura and Delma Black, all of Langley, S.C. and nine grandchildren, Nicholas Padgett, Victoria Padgett, Zachary Padgett, Keith Padgett, Kyle Crews, Cooper Crews, Alex Padgett, Savannah Padgett and Hunter Morris. Mr. Padgett was born in Saluda, S.C. to the late Ray Sr. and Irene Toole Padgett. He retired from Clearwater Finishing Plant, a division of United Merchants and Manufacturing, with 28 years of service and he was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services will be on Friday at 3 p.m. in the Hatcher Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Louis Swanson and John George officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are John Story, Randy Messer, Kelly Jordan, Ray Pierce, Irvin Yaun and Kenneth Masters.
