All controversy aside, Fahrenheit 9/11 is the most moving film I have ever seen. Yes, it does show Michael Moore's opinions, but it also shows the opinions of American soldiers, Iraqi civilians and American families who have lost loved ones in the war.
I cried during the footage of American soldiers solemnly carrying their casualties; I cried during the footage of soldiers with nerve damage and amputated limbs. This film shows us a side of war that is too horrific to air on the nightly news.
At one point, Michael Moore asks a group of young men how many of them have family serving in the military in Iraq. Almost all of them raised their hands, and one said, "My brother's there." I cried, chills running down my spine. My brother is in Iraq, too. This war has affected so many of us.
We owe it to ourselves to get a glimpse of the horror of war that our soldiers face every day. Every American must see this documentary.
