Mrs. LeVerte Moss (WASHINGTON, Ga.)



WASHINGTON, Ga.- Mrs. LeVerte Drinkard Moss, 83, died Friday, June 25, 2004, at Wills Memorial Hospital in Washington. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 27,2004, at 4 p.m., at Lincolnton United Methodist Church with Rev. John Pike and Rev. Allen Danner officiating. Her eulogy will be delivered by her son, Billy Moss. Mrs. Moss was a life long resident of Lincoln County where she was a member of the Lincolnton United Methodist Church. She was an active member of the United Methodist Women and also sang in choir. She was known as the society columnist for the Lincoln Journal and a former correspondent of the Augusta Chronicle. Mrs. Moss was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, William Homer Moss. Survivors include three sons, William H. "Billy" Moss, Jr., Commerece, James David Moss, Augusta, Lee Drinkard Moss, Lincolnton; two daughters, Carol M. Brittain, Gray, LeVerte M. Hayes, Lincolnton; one brother, Edwin Drinkard, Lincoln ton; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Bobby Hawes, Walker Norman, Harold Schroeder, Bob Guillebeau, Bill Bufford, Murray Ramsen, George Leverett and Page Prater. Memorials may be made to Lincolnton United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 85, Lincolnton, GA 30817. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday, June 26, 2004, at Beggs Funeral Home.
