Mrs. Esther Hart (APPLING, Ga.)



APPLING, Ga.- Entered into rest at her residence on June 24, 2004, Esther Mae "Granny" Hart, beloved wife of Alfred "Yogi" Hart for 63 years. "Granny" lived in the Augusta area since 1953. She was an avid bowler and was Past President and Hall of Fame member of the Augusta Women's Bowling Assoc., American Legion Auxiliary in Orland, IN, and a member of the Lutheran Church. The family said she was a loving mother and grandmother. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Alfred F. "Buddy" and Melinda Hart and Robert William and Vicky Hart all of Augusta; a daughter, Virginia Mae Thompson of Appling, Ga.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, sisters, Evelyn Eash of Bronson, Mich., and Ruth Andersen and her husband Arnold of LaGrange, Ind. Funeral services will be Monday, June 28, 2004 at 1 p.m., in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors with Rev. Mark Downs and Rev. Lewis McNeely officiating. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be the Members of the Augusta Men's Bowling Hall of Fame; Curley Winter, David Wunder, John Collins, Bill Bonnette, Clyde Hall and Ralph McLain. Honorary pallbearers will be the Augusta Women's Bowling Association Hall of Fame. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, June 27, 2004 from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to, St. Joseph Hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Rd. Augusta, GA 30904.
