Mr. Richard T. "Rick" Anderson (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga.- Entered into rest at the residence on Tuesday, June 15, 2004, Mr. Richard Troy "Rick" Anderson of Augusta. Survivors include his partner, Ron Prestage, Augusta; one son, R. Troy Anderson, Augusta; a sister, Lenda A. Mattison, Atlanta; a brother, Shelton S. Anderson, Donalsonville; a half-brother, Scott Carter, Atlanta and a host of wonderful friends. Rick was a native of Vidalia, the son of the late Lenard H. and Edna Harris Anderson. He began a career in Funeral Service while in High School and was associated with Murchison Funeral Home in Vidalia from 1968 until moving to Augusta to work with Platt's Funeral Home in 1984. In 1989 he became the General Manager for Elliott Sons Funeral Home and served in this capacity until 1996. Following his departure from the funeral industry he became a courier for Federal Express, beginning in the Augusta station and then moved to the Aiken station when it opened. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday evening, June 19, 2004 at 6 p.m. from the Columbia Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home with Dr. Rodger Murchison officiating. Honored guests will be fellow employees of Federal Express. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until the hour of service.
