Mr. William "Bill" Pomerance (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga.- Mr. William "Bill" Pomerance, husband of 49 years to Annabelle Levy Pomerance, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at University Hospital. Funeral services will be held at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Telfair Street Chapel, on Thursday, June 17, 2004 at 2 p.m. with Rabbi David Sirull officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery. Additional survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Mitchell and Lisa Pomerance, Stamford, Conn.; a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Sidney Seidenberg, Augusta, Ga.; one sister-in-law, Charlotte Schnee, Boynton Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Pomerance was preceded in death by his father and mother, Samuel and Sarah Pomerance. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Pomerance was a retired local merchant and had made Augusta his home for the past 59 years. He was a member of Adas Yeshurun Synagogue, T.P.A., Good Government and a former member of the Elks Lodge. Pallbearers for the funeral will be Jeff Gorelick, Fred Seidenberg, Fred Stein, Larry Kupferman, Ted Kupferman, Sidney Prefer, Norman Shapiro, Malcolm Estroff, Dr. Manny Weisman and Martin Bogo.
