IN RESPONSE TO the rant about parents who let their kids run around in stores, I call you selfish. At the same time, why don't you open a day-care center and keep all the kids whose parents want to shop? Give them a day out since you don't have any and aren't concerned about people with children.
OVER 500 TEACHERS from 23 Richmond County schools began four days of mandatory training at the Radisson Riverfront Hotel. These teachers have had to cancel vacations, arrange for baby sitters, get time off from summer jobs and rearrange their schedules to attend this mandatory training. In exchange for the time, they will receive a stipend which amounts to less than half the average teacher's hourly wage. If Charles Larke can be compensated his hourly wage for vacation time he couldn't take, why can't he make sure his teachers are paid their hourly wage for vacation time they are forced to give up to attend this mandatory training?
THIS IS A RANT for the bragging blowhard with the $50,000 SUV and enough money to buy gas so he can drive by himself in it all day. He missed the point. No matter how much money you have, you still have a responsibility to conserve natural resources. This preserves them for future generations and also reduces our nation's reliance on foreign oil. Driving a giant SUV just to feed your ego is selfish and unpatriotic.
COULD ANY PARENT HOPE to hear more gracious, eloquent, moving, thankful, and sincerely appreciative words of eulogy from one's children than those of the Reagan children? What a fine tribute to a truly remarkable man.
TO THE PERSON that asked what the "D" was in "D-Day": As silly as it sounds, the "D" meant "DAY", so what you have is "Day Day." For the "naysayers" and the folks that think I'm nuts, look it up, like I did.
I HAVE A RANT for University Hospital and everyone else who is not flying the American Flag at half-staff. After a president of the U.S. dies, the American flag is to be flown at half-staff for 30 days or shouldn't be flown at all. I have spoken to the hospital, and they said it was an oversight.
MY DEEPEST sympathies go out to the friends and family of Shanequa Carpenter. May God be with you all. I pray justice will be served.
A RANT TO PPG: I was appalled at the audacity of PPG asking for tax exemption, real estate, property tax. These people make millions. They have millions in investments. They pay their executives ridiculously high salaries, more than some doctors and some state officials. They want to take away from Richmond County and its citizens. When everything else is going up in price, PPG wants a freebie. Shame on you.
I'M A MEMBER of the Josey High School Class of 1969. I attended the 40th anniversary Super Reunion of my alma mater this past May. It was absolutely, positively wonderful. I had not had that much fun in years. I can't wait until homecoming.
