Charleston celebrates its seagoing heritage through Sunday at the Charleston Maritime Festival. The event, spread over four days and a lot of water, features all manner of vessels, from multimasted tall ships to model sailboats. The festival will take place at the Maritime Center Complex and the adjacent Ansonborough Field in Charleston, one block from the corner of East Bay and Calhoun streets. Call (843) 722-1030.


The second annual Clarkston Outdoor Market and Festival takes place 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday between Roger and Rowland avenues and Market Street and North Indian Creek. The event features exhibitors showcasing art, antiques and collectibles. Admission is free. Clarkston is in Dekalb County, just east of Atlanta's Interstae 285 perimeter.
