Angels recall Turnbow

PITTSBURGH -- The Anaheim Angels recalled right-handed reliever Derrick Turnbow from Triple-A Salt Lake before beginning a three-game series in Pittsburgh on Tuesday.

The move came a day after catcher Bengie Molina went on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained left calf. He is eligible to be activated Saturday.

Turnbow was 1-3 with a 5.11 ERA in 22 relief appearances at Salt Lake, striking out 25 and walking 22 in 37 innings. He spent time with the Angels the last two seasons, going 2-0 with a 3.54 ERA in 35 games.
