Mr. Jack Wetzel (THOMSON, Ga.)



THOMSON, Ga.- Mr. Jack M. Wetzel, 69, of 171 Whiteoak Campground Rd., N.E., Thomson, Ga. entered into rest Sunday, May 23, 2004 at his residence. He went home to be with the Lord after a long battle with cancer. Mr. Wetzel was born in Glendale, West Virginia, but grew up in Cameron, West Virginia. He was the beloved son of the late Presley and Stella Wetzel. He served six years in the U. S. Army, worked with civil service from 1966-1988 and retired as a Training Supervisor with the TAC Wire Branch at Fort Gordon, Georgia. Mr. Wetzel was also a member of Second Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at 2 p.m. in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ron Drawdy and Rev. Bobby Farmer officiating. Pallbearers will be Lemuel Farley, Ray Lampp, Joe Winstead, Billy Graham, Ronnie Mason and Troy Adams. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Second Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery. He is survived by his wi fe, Sandra Diane Wetzel; two sons, James M. (Matt) Garthright and James E. (Jimmy) Garthright and his fiancee, Patricia DCarlo, all of Thomson, Ga.; his sister and brother-in-law, Jyll and Gordon Park of Ashtabula, Ohio and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Rd., Augusta, Ga. 30904. Friends may call at the residence of from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
