Retired Security New Smyrna Beach, Fla. - Mr. Paul T. "Pop" Smith, 87, husband of the late Rosa Lee Smith, entered into rest Friday, May 21, 2004 in New Smyrna Beach, Fla. Mr. Smith was a native of New York and had lived in Florida for the past 42 years. Mr. Smith was a Sergeant in Company C-28th Infantry Division of World War II. He also retired from the Miami Heart Hospital in Miami Beach, Fla. as a security officer. His hobbies were biking, fishing and golfing. Family members are a daughter; Pauline Sconyers and her husband Joe Sconyers, Augusta; three grandchildren, Rose Parnell, Hephzibah; Randy Sconyers, Evans; Charlie Sconyers, Augusta. Seven Great Grandchildren, and one Great Great Grandchild; two sisters, Lillian Bauman, Long Island, New York; Catherine Nill, Lake Springs, Fla. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Marion Jay officiating. Pallbearers are Randy Sconyers, Charlie Sconyers , Brice Parnell, Jr., Joseph Sconyers, Michael Sconyers, and Steve Sealey. The family will receive friends Monday, May 24, 2004 from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
