Mr. Francis Norton (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga.- Mr. Francis William Norton, entered into rest on Monday, May 24, 2004, at the Doctor's Hospital. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at The Church of the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at 12:15 p.m. with The Rev. Alan McDonald celebrant. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Mr. Norton was a native of Millbury, Massachusetts. He was a graduate of the Worcester Polytechnic Institute as a Civil Engineer. He was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Mr. Norton was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during WWII, in the 100th Infantry Division. He was a member of the American Legion Post 63. Mr. Norton had retired from the Monsanto Corporation as a site superintendent. He was a member as well as a former usher of The Church of the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Ann Carr Norton; one son, John Patrick Norton and his wife, Grace P. Norton of Waldorf, Md.; two sisters, Ellen T. Norton and Rosemary Norton, both of Millbury, Mass.; two grandchildren, Angela Marie Norton and John Francis Norton and a number of nieces and nephews. The rosary will be recited this evening (Tuesday) at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
