Mrs. Hallie Hendrix (SALUDA, S.C.)



SALUDA, S.C.- Hallie Dean Scurry Hendrix, 76, formerly of Sample St., died Sunday, May 9, 2004, at Saluda Nursing Center. Born in Saluda County and a daughter of the late Frederick Grant, Sr. and Hallie Sineath Scurry, she was the wife of the late James David Hendrix. Mrs. Hendrix was a graduate of Newberry College and retired from Saluda High School after a 25 year teaching career. She was a member of Saluda Baptist Church. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul David Hendrix and Paulette of Batesburg and James Grant Hendrix and Kim of Concord, N.C.; one daughter and son-in-law, Gayle Darlene Hendrix Powell and Ricky of North Augusta; three brothers, F. G. Scurry and Harvey Scurry, both of Saluda and Brooks Scurry of Nevada and six grandchildren, Chad Hendrix, Stacy Cochran, Morgan Powell, Carson Powell, Sarah Hendrix and Matthew Hendrix. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at Sa luda Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Ridge Spring Cemetery. The family is at the home of a son Paul Hendrix and will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Ramey Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Saluda Baptist Church, 112 W.
