MACAU -- Jason Knutzon of the United States won the Macau Open on Sunday, making a birdie on the final hole to beat Thaworn Wiratchant of Thailand by a stroke.
Knutzon recorded his first significant victory after beginning the final round of the Asian PGA Tour event three shots behind leader Amandeep Johl of India. Knutzon had four birdies on the back nine in closing with a 4-under-par 67 for a 16-under 268.
Tied for third at 270 were Johl and Lu Wen-teh of Taiwan. Padraig Harrington of Ireland, the tournament's most prominent player, closed with a 69 for a 271. Edward Loar of the United States was at 273.
