Mr. F. "Willie" Barker (THOMSON, Ga.)



THOMSON, Ga.- Farris "Willie" R. Barker, 89, of Thomson, Ga., entered into rest May 3, 2004, at the Waynesboro Medical Center. He is the son of the late Jessie Barker and the late Georgia Belle Timmerman Barker. Survivors include the mother of his children, Corrie Lee Phillips of Augusta, Ga.; his two daughters, LaVerne (Julian A.) Speering of Evans, Ga. and Annette Albea of Augusta, Ga.; sister, Maybelle Wise of Graniteville, S.C.; 10 grandchildren, Jerry Speering, Frank Speering, Russell Speering, Debbie Stevens, Sheryl Champy, Joan Speering, Susan Brown, Sandra Hand, Karen Allen and Jennifer Cross and 17 great-grandchildren. Mr. Barker lived most of his life in Richmond County, but he had lived Thomson for over 35 years. He had worked at Georgia Iron Works and he was a Methodist. He was a caring person for his friends neighbors. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, May 6, 2004, at Savannah Valley Mem orial Gardens with Rev. Mark Canipe officiating. Pallbearers will be held grandsons, Jerry Speering, Frank Speering, Russell Speering, James Hand Jr., Jason Allen and Rocky Cross.
