Mrs. Agnes Freeland (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Agnes Brown Freeland, age 97, entered into rest on Sunday, May 2, 2004 at the Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor, Texas. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, (Today) May 5, 2004 at 3 p.m., from the graveside in Westover Memorial Park with Reverend Terry L. Phillips, officiating. Pallbearers will be Bobby Willing, Alan Freeland, Symm McCord, Kenric Marshall, Tom Freeland, III and Greg Davies. The family will receive friends, today, from 1-2 p.m. at the Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Road, Martinez. She was a native of Augusta where she had been a lifelong resident, before moving to Orange, Texas in 1992 to be with her daughter, Shirley Marshall and family. Mrs. Freeland had made many friends while living at the Sabine House, which had been her home, in Orange, Texas for the past seven years. She had been an outstanding mother, who had cared for her aging parents and three sisters for many years. While li ving in Augusta, she had been a lifelong member of St. John United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Eakes Bible Class. Mrs. Freeland was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Thomas Bligh Freeland, Sr., and her grand daughter, Clare Marshall. She is survived by: her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley Freeland Marshall and Donald, Orange, Texas; her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas B. Freeland, Jr., and Marsha, Brentwood, Tenn.; grandchildren, Kenric Alan Marshall and wife, Jana, Thomas B. Freeland, III, Julie Freeland Davies and husband, Greg, great- grandchildren, Andrew, Nathan, Philip and Simone Marshall and Alexandra Davies.
