Howard Hooks (WARTHEN, S.C.)



WARTHEN, S.C. - Mr. Howard Pierce Hooks, age 78, of Mills Lindsey School Road in Warthen died Sunday May 2 in North Augusta, S.C. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday May 4 in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville. The Rev. Tim Nardi will officiate with burial in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Hooks was a native of Washington County, the son of the Late Eulas Hooks and the late Minnie Rowland. He was a retired department store clerk and a disabled Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Hooks attended the Baptist Church. Survivors are his sisters, Joann H. Nardi of Belvedere, S.C., Ruth H. Usry of Milledgeville, Ga., Betty H. Gilman of Warner Robbins, Ga., and Christine H. Branch of Thomson, 13 nieces and ten nephews. The family will be at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 1 p.m., Tuesday until the hour of service to receive friends.
