Mrs. Bessie Williams (MATTHEWS, Ga.)



MATTHEWS, Ga. - Mrs. Bessie P. Williams was born on April 2, 1923, and was received into the arms of her loving Savior, Jesus Christ on April 30, 2004, at which time her faith was turned to sight. Mrs. Williams was a native of Smithville, Tenn. and a resident of the Matthews Community. She attended Augusta First Church of the Nazarene. Through the years she served as Missionary President and Sunday School Teacher in Virginia and Georgia. Mrs. Williams was a dedicated employee with the Civil Service and the Department of Interior, in Washington D.C. She was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother, enjoyed traveling, cooking, and reading. She is survived by her sons, Dwight DeNegly (Sandie), Birmingham, Ala.; Craig Williams (the late Janice Williams), Augusta; one special granddaughter Christie Williams (fiancŽ Scott Myers) of Smyrna; and her caregiver, Doris Stewart, Stapleton. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 3, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Jame s Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dwight DeNegly and Rev. Hilton Gillespie officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 - 9 p.m. tonight, Sunday, May 2, 2004 at the funeral home.
