JOHNSTON, S.C.- Mr. Jake William Ricketson, 60, of Johnston, S.C., formerly of Canadys died May 1, 2004 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 3, in the Canaan Baptist Church at Canadys, S.C. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Ricketson was born July 2, 1943 in Charleston County and was a son of the late Benjamin Leo and Essie Mae Smoak Ricketson. He was a retired Textile Mechanic, a member of Canaan Baptist Church and was a Mason. Surviving are a son, Benjie Ricketson; daughters, Sharon Fay and Karen Jaggers all of Johnston; brother, Charles Ricketson of Charleston; sisters, Rosie Soderland of Goose Creek, Bennie Tapley, Marian Marchant, Carolyn Marchant and Shirley Newcomb all of Canadys; grandchildren, Brittney, Alexis, Taylor and Kathy; special friend, Lucille Proctor of Johnston.
