Mr. Mack Holmes (NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C.)



NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C.- Mr. Mack Darrell Holmes, 57, Murrah Rd., Ext., gently slept away on Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at the University Hospital. The funeral service will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday, May 3, 2004, at the Runs Missionary Baptist Church, Beech Island, with Rev. C. W. Phinizy officiating. The burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Holmes, a native of Honolulu, Hawaii, was a member of the Park Missionary Baptist Church and a former automotive mechanic. His loving father, Mack Holmes, and two siblings, Benjamin Holmes and Kenneth Holmes, preceded him in death. He will be forever missed, but treasured for an eternity. His memory will always live on in the hearts and minds of his survivors; one daughter, Rotonda Denise "Nisey" Holmes, Aiken, three sons, Marvin Holmes, Durham, NC; Darrell Holmes, Rochester, NY; and Johnnie Settles, Aiken, three grandchildren; his loving and devoted mother, Lanie Ho lmes, North Augusta, two brothers, Myron Holmes and Carl Holmes both of Augusta, two sisters, Beverly (Sammie) Martin and Bethel Cunningham both of Aiken, one uncle, Benjamin Bush, Pensacola, Fla., and a host of other extended family members and saddened friends. The family will be receiving friends at the residence. The viewing will be held on (today) Sunday, May 2, 2004, from 3 until 8 p.m at the funeral home and Monday, May 3, 2004, from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of service at the church.
