touch of spring
Quirky, funny, offbeat and downright odd. These are just a few of the words that could be used to describe the online comic strip The White Ninja, found at www.whiteninjacomics.com. A grade-school creation of Scott Bevan and Kent Earle, there are now more than 400 White Ninja comic strips, all of which feature the title character, The White Ninja. Though not terribly well drawn - and lacking in story, substance or topic - the humor and charm of White Ninja lie in its complete absence of sense. In fact, this is what makes it so compelling.
It's time to vamp up your spring wardrobe. This season's colors are in, with yellow, mint green and bright blue the favorites. Pleated and flowing skirts can look really flirty and are easy to wear with any shoe, and both are in style in a big way. Those with short legs can pull off kitten-heel flip-flops with a just-above-knee-length skirt to make limbs look longer. Big, colorful, fabric flowers are the accessory of the moment. They look great everywhere - on shoes, pinned on shirts or skirts, or even on hair elastics.

The origin of "chef" comes from the Old French word for "chief" and the phrase "chef de cuisine" or "head of the kitchen." First used in 1826, it has come to describe not only the head cook but also someone who is a professional cook (usually a good one) as well.
