PITTSBURGH -- The Chicago Cubs-Pittsburgh Pirates game was rained out Thursday night and was rescheduled as part of a May 28 doubleheader starting at 5:05 p.m.
A steady rain fell at PNC Park for several hours before the game was called off about a half-hour before the scheduled 7:05 p.m. start. Only a few thousand fans were in the stands at the time.
The Cubs won the first two games of the series, outscoring the Pirates 21-2.
The Pirates have now had at least one home rainout in April each of the last eight seasons.
