Mrs. Ernestine Tate (AUGUSTA, Ga.)



AUGUSTA, Ga.- Mrs. Ernestine Gillam Tate, Augusta, age 61, entered into rest Monday, March 29, 2004, at University Hospital. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 3, 2004, at C.A. Reid Memorial Chapel at 2 p.m., with Rev. Clarence Grier officiating. Interment will be at Southview Cemetery. Ernestine was born August 22, 1942 to the late Earnest and Arleine Gillam. She attended the public schools of Richmond County. At an early age she joined Harmony Baptist Church. She was employed at King Mill for 25 years. She was married to Frank Tate. She was blessed with four children. She leaves to cherish her memory a beloved husband, Frank Tate, Augusta; three sons, Leslie (Charlette) Gillam, John Beard, Marcus Grier, all of Augusta; one daughter, Sheron Gillam of Augusta; one sister, Vera Holloway of Augusta; three brothers, Wallace (Juanita) Gillam Sr., Earl (Ruby) Gillam of Brunswick, Ga., Terry (Patricia) Gillam of Chicago, Ill.; two brothers-in-law, Claude (Ernestine) Tate and Willie Tate of Augusta; one uncle, Flay Hobbs of Augusta; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
