PALM DESERT, Calif. -- The LPGA's Samsung World Championship, which has been contested on five different continents in its 23-year history, will be played at Bighorn Golf Club this fall.
The 72-hole tournament on Oct. 14-17 will feature 20 of the world's top players, including Sweden's Sophie Gustafson, who won the event at The Woodlands in Texas last year.
Gustafson, Grace Park and Se Ri Pak already are assured spots in the elite field; Gustafson by virtue of being defending champion, Park as the winner of last weekend's Kraft Nabisco Championship and Pak as the low scorer on tour in 2003.
