Eighty percent payback (one place for every eight boats) with $2,000 first-place guarantee. Proceeds benefit Thomson-McDuffie Department of Tourism Thurmond Lake Project. Next tournament: April 18, Lake Sinclair, lakeside ramp. (District 72 also will hold its tournament on Lake Sinclair out of High Grove Ramp on April 17 so anglers can fish both qualifying tournaments on the same weekend).
Billed as the largest tournament trail for weekend anglers, it's open to men, women and youths (with parental consent) 16 years of age and older. No boat is required, but if you enter as a boater, you will be guaranteed its use even if there are no nonboaters in the field. Entry fee is $55 for one-day tournaments. Payment at the ramp will result in a $5 penalty unless you are signing up as a new member, are renewing membership or are a life member. No guides or professional bass anglers are allowed. Entry forms are available at Pair of Jacks in Leah, Ga., or reservations can be made by phone and entry fees paid at the ramp. Late entries must pay an additional $10. Participants under 16 must be paired with an adult because of Georgia DNR regulations. To preregister, send the entry fee with the names of both anglers to Youth Outdoors Inc., P.O. All South Carolina Trail tournaments will be held on Lake Murray out of Billy Dreher Island State Park. Hours are safe light until 3 p.m. The schedule: April 17, May 22, June 19. Championship is set on Lake Eufaula.
A $20 annual membership fee is required. Tournament entry fee is $110. Big fish pot fee is $10. Payback is 80 percent with one place for every eight teams.
